CHARACTER INFORMATION

NAME: Nick Valentine
CANON: Fallout 4
AGE: 100+
CANON POINT: Pre-endgame (before sending the Sole Survivor to the Institute).

BACKGROUND: Here!
INCENTIVE: Nick would be pretty easy to coerce into Eudio. He’d do it entirely willingly and certainly not at the expense of anyone else. He’d likely want to regain all his memories, prior to having his mind wiped of all the Institute’s experiments and probably the entirety of his “human” memories as well. On top of that, any assistance in discovering the whereabouts of Eddie Winter post-war might save him quite a lot of hassle in the future.

FIT: Nick would honestly be pretty curious about Eudio. He’s the definition of lawfully good at its finest. On top of that, while he does have his pre-war memories, he never truly physically existed on a planet that was anything short of a nuclear apocalypse. He’s used to corruption, brutality, and fear. He expects to be disappointed and often comments on how the Sole Survivor is one of the few remaining decent people left in Boston. Discovering a world that’s entirely built on the idea of consent and lawfulness would be a refreshing break. Sure, he’d miss his companions and sure, he’d be concerned about their welfare while he’s away, but he’d also likely see it as a temporary vacation. A chance to take a “breather.”

On the subject of physical intimacy, it is well known that Nick is (lol) pretty much… untouchable in the game. There are various theories on this. Between him being a synth and not being “interested” or simply the fact that he’s a classy film noir-esque type trope of a character. Always polite, cordial, and old fashioned when it comes to intimacy. I am more inclined to believe the latter. Nick wouldn’t be opposed to physical intimacy. He’s used to people being repulsed or disgusted by him at this point and doesn’t take offense to their aversion. But at the same time, he’d welcome the prospect of intimacy with someone he truly, deeply cared about. Additionally, Nick still has the memories of being in love and even engaged to his fiancé, Jenny Lands. He’s aware of what love and intimacy feels like.

CONSENT: Nick is fully opposed to breaching any boundaries of consent. As both a law enforcement officer and a genuinely decent human being synth, he would never in any way, shape or form go against another person’s consent. In canon, it’s extremely easy to lose his approval rating if you partake in certain unlawful activities that do not involve mutual consent. Things like pickpocketing, picking locks, and murdering innocents all piss him off. Donating items, assisting others, and even feeding your freakin’ dog will earn his approval.
